So, what is...

The Hidden Impact?

Founder James Wearing a cream cap, blue background and black jumper, he is smiling

I’m James Williams, a facilitator, speaker, and advisor - I'm passionate about changing the way we understand health and identity for those with chronic medical conditions.

Born with Osteogenesis Imperfecta (Brittle Bones Disease), I spent much of my early life in hospitals, learning early on that while medical care mended the physical problems it doesn’t always mend what’s happening underneath - emotionally, mentally, or socially.

That realisation became the foundation of The Hidden Impact - with programs dedicated to helping people see beyond the condition and understand the person, the story, and the emotional load behind it through a felt experience.

Through workshops, storytelling, and lived-experience education, The Hidden Impact supports:

  • Young people navigating life with chronic conditions,

  • Parents and carers wanting to support them, and

  • Professionals who want to bridge the gap between clinical care and emotional wellbeing.

I'm building something meaningful - creating spaces where lived experience meets practical understanding, where conversations turn into connection, and where people feel seen for who they are, not just what they live with.
